The Simon and Schuster Pocket Guide to Drawing
I am always searching for helpful drawing and painting guides for my students. Sometimes it seems like that the book list is endless and I want to discover as many different books as possible. When I found this pocket guide I was first not convinced if it provides enough information for someone who is training a professional skill. But I have to admit that this small guide provides every basic you should know. It doesn't go very deep into details furthermore, it provides a clear overview of every basic you need to know.
The content of this book:
- Materials and equipment basic
- Techniques with further explanation of drawing exercises, still life, flowers, the figure, animals, portraits, landscape, buildings, sketches, drawing aids and more
- References to making your own tools, paper and framing
All information is compressed in less than 150 pages, which makes it a light companion on the go. The illustration and examples are clear and the instructions easy to understand. It is a great book for beginners and everyone who wants to learn more about Drawing, or needs a reminder of some basics on the go.
