Mike Medaglia: One year wiser
I purchased this book for my birthday last year in November. The question is: Am I already wiser? I don't know! But what I can guarantee is, that "One year wiser" was definitely a good investment. 365 beautiful illustrated and mindful quotes for every day. No matter if I was happy, sad, stressed, or angry: reading a quote helped me to review my current situation, ask myself questions, and just to calm down. What else can be a better birthday gift, than receiving every day a new quote to read and enjoy!
Don't get me wrong: I am not a fan of horribly illustrated Facebook quotes that are making their way to my feed. I am really not that kind of person who is into this cheesy stuff. But this book is definitely another league! I was actually surprised how pleasing it is to have an actual book with beautifully illustrated quotes and that I am not getting bored of reading it.
Mike Medaglia is also one of the nicest illustrators I've ever talked to. I reached out to him with a few questions about illustration and freelancer business. He was very helpful and kind in his response. Currently, he self-published a new mini comic. Its title is "Poverty of the heart". The comics are about listening and caring for your heart. It has very beautiful illustrated and careful combined content. I definitely know what I will purchase for my next birthday this year.
Mike Medaglia also released this year a new book in the series "One Year Wiser"; this book is an illustrated guide to mindfulness, written and illustrated by him. He is a very talented comic editor, cartoonist, Zen Buddhist practitioner, and illustrator who lives in London. He also draws a monthly meditation comic for the Huffington Post.
