Dynamic Anatomy (Burne Hogarth)
The examples in this book are nice. I do love the illustrations and the drawing style. The explanations are going a lot into details and it is a great reference. Burne Hogarth also provides an interesting overview of how the human anatomy has changed throughout art history. From the ancient "survival men" to the "analytical men". Also worth to read is the chapter about how art and science are deeply connected, especially in case of anatomy and the exploring of the human body.
Of course, this book also gives guidance in measurement and how to draw and measure correct anatomy. It is more than a book for artists, it is also interesting for everyone who wants to learn more about anatomy from a historical point of view.
Another great read from Burne Hogarth is "Drawing the Human Head". I hope I can find a copy I can borrow and check it out soon. If you read this book feel free to share your experience with me :)
